After a six-year hiatus, the space once occupied by the iconic LGBTQ+ dance club Embers Avenue is set to make a grand return under a new name and vision. Once a beloved fixture of Portland’s nightlife, the venue has been closed and under construction since hosting its final dance party in 2017.

Now, the wait is finally over. Badlands Portland will open the reimagined space at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at 110 N.W. Broadway. True to its roots, Badlands will cater to the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, offering a variety of inclusive programming and events, said Brian Aranda, development manager for Badlands.
