PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Deandre Ayton made a triumphant return from injury by posting a season-high of 30 points along with 19 rebounds, propelling the Portland Trail Blazers to an overtime win, 128-118, over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.

Dalano Banton contributed 25 points and Anfernee Simons chipped in with 23 points, ending Portland’s three-game skid. The Blazers (18-45), who had suffered a 123-107 defeat to the Houston Rockets the previous night, bounced back in the latter half of back-to-back games.

Immanuel Quickley put up 29 points for the Raptors, and Gary Trent Jr. scored 23. However, the Raptors have been struggling, securing only one victory in their past five matches. They arrived in Portland following a 120-113 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.

Late in the fourth quarter, Quickley’s layup brought the Raptors within two points, 111-109. Matisse Thybulle responded with a layup for Portland. Chris Boucher then tied the game for Toronto with a pair of free throws, eventually leading to overtime after a frenzied final minute.

Ayton’s dunk initiated the scoring in overtime, and a critical three-pointer from Simons extended Portland’s lead to 120-113. The Raptors failed to respond in the remaining time.

Ayton, along with rookie Scoot Henderson, returned to play after dealing with injuries. While Ayton was out for five games due to a hand sprain, Henderson missed eight with an adductor injury. Despite a minutes restriction, Henderson managed to score nine points quickly.

The Trail Blazers were, however, still short-handed missing Jerami Grant, Jabari Walker, Malcolm Brogdon, and Shaedon Sharpe due to various injuries.

After taking command early in the game, Portland established a significant lead and retained the advantage at halftime, led by Ayton’s 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Raptors: Travel to face the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

Trail Blazers: Will be hosting the Boston Celtics on Monday night.
