Motorcyclist killed in crash in Southeast Portland

The driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. This is the 23rd deadly crash in Portland so far this year, and the fourth involving a motorbike. Portland police have not yet identified the motorcycleist or released any additional details about the injured driver.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A motorcyclist died in a crash late Wednesday night in Southeast Portland. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was seriously injured, Portland police said.
Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Southeast Flavel Street and Southeast 112th Avenue around 11:16 p.m. They found the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital.
Portland police have not yet identified the motorcyclist, and have not released any additional details about the injured driver.
Anyone with information about the deadly crash is asked to send an email to [email protected], addressed to the Traffic Investigations Unit and reference case number 24-138693.
This marks the 23rd deadly crash in Portland so far this year, and the fourth involving a motorcyclist, according to Portland police, just behind last year's pace. In 2023, traffic deaths in Portland reached their highest total in at least 30 years with 69 deaths. As of June 5 last year, there had been 25 traffic deaths in Portland.
